YouTube Will Now Support Paid Subscriptions Removing Ads

YouTube will now have monthly subscriptions option for content creators to have where if a viewer subscribes, by paying the monthly subscription, that viewer will no longer see ads on a video. It’s not clear whither a viewer would pay one monthly subscription to remove all ads from videos on YouTube, or if the viewer will have to pay individual subscriptions for individual channels.

This information comes from an email sent to content creators on YouTube

“By creating a new paid offering, we’ll generate a new source of revenue that will supplement your fast growing advertising service.”

“We’re increasingly moving into an age where consumers are learning to avoid advertising,” said Rich Greenfield, an analyst at BTIG. “Between DVRs, Netflix and now Amazon, we’re increasingly learning to lead an ad-free life.”

This paid monthly subscriptions will be released supposedly this year, 2015. More info here.
